AMC's Rubicon. Sundays at 9PM. |
Although this is my favorite show of the summer I have to warn you that it's not for everyone and I'm not really even sure why I like this show. The story moves at a turtle's pace, it's difficult to follow at times, there's very little action, and there's not much character development. Despite all this I highly anticipate this show each week. Maybe it's the sense that something big is about to happen or the very high level of suspense in each episode that keeps me going or perhaps it just fits the empty spot that Alias used to fill so well. This show will either be great by the end of the season or a lost cause. In the meantime, I'll be watching.
BBC's Luther. Sadly not available on US TV. |
Unless you live in England you're going to have to rely on the good ol' internet to see this gem of a show. It's a cop show but resembles none of the trash (I'm looking at you CSI) on US television. This is a dark drama that has some Dexter feel to it. If not for the fact that it's only six episodes this would be my favorite (favourite) show of the summer. This show is a truly original idea with none of the formulaic nonsense of traditional crime dramas. Any description I'd try to provide of this series just wouldn't do it justice. Do yourself a favor and check it out as soon as you can. It's been renewed for a short second season in 2011 so you have some time to catch up.
Futurama. Thursdays at 10PM on Comedy Central |
Finally back from the dead, Futurama, isn't necessarily up to par with it's former self, but it's still entertaining and I felt as though it was picking up steam as the season progressed. The new season is already over, but I believe it's still airing as repeats.
Stay tuned...
The ryTV fall preview is coming soon!
